Artificial Insemination with donor sperm (AID) is a basic assisted reproduction technique that consists of introducing a donor sperm sample into the woman’s uterus using the appropriate instruments. This sample is previously prepared in the laboratory to optimise its quality.
In order to increase the chances of pregnancy, the ovulation of the mother-to-be can be induced by hormonal medication before the insemination. In the case of young women without fertility problems, if desired, the insemination can be performed without any additional hormonal stimulation.
Mainly for single women or lesbian couples. In general, Artificial Insemination with Donor Sperm is recommended for women up to 38 years of age.
The chances of pregnancy in an insemination treatment depend mainly on the age of the patient and the number of follicles that develop in the cycle.
